Reptile Humidity Control

Cold-blooded animals that they are, reptiles depend on environment to control their body temperature. Humidity control and maintenance is important in matching a reptile's natural environment. Inappropriate humidity levels can lead to many problems including excessive shedding of skin and respiratory problems.

PVC Piping System: If the back wall of the vivarium is Coco Panels board, attach a spraying tube to the back wall. The piping system drips water continuously into the back wall, which then provides humidity.

Hygrometer: This tool allows you to keep track of the level of humidity in a vivarium.

Misting System: This is used to enhance humidity inside the enclosure. A misting system is hose that produces very fine water droplets.

Spray Bottle: The spray bottle looks like hand-held plant spray. It is designed to be operated by hand . You should spray twice a day to maintain humidity level in the aquarium. Spray bottles are less expensive than automatic misting systems, but if you are busy with a tendency for forgetting things, the spray bottle fits the bill.

Fogger: Foggers, as the name implies, are devices designed to produce fog or mist spray. Foggers come with a variety of materials, sizes, and designs. A basic fogger is sat on a water-filled shallow dish. A more expensive fogger, the external fogger, connects to a water source of a vivarium via a long tube. Most foggers have a maximum run of 15 minutes. The pet owner has the option to operate them manually or attach them to a humidity controller.

Humidity Controller: This apparatus regulates temperature or humidity level inside a vivarium.
